Move In To Move On: Syncing With The Season Of Change

Move In To Move On: Syncing With The Season Of Change

"Every moment is born from the death of another...
You suffer because you hold on to each moment, and do not experience the death of the moment...
The universe isn't static...
You have to keep dying to the past...
When you do that,
you will experience the joy in the impermanence too!!"

A Meditation To Welcome Spring

A Meditation To Welcome Spring

It would be an amazing experiment to witness the changes this Yang energy creates every day. For instance, if you were to scoop up some soil from the ground today, and then every day until say May 1, it would be remarkable to observe the it metamorphoses from contracted, dense, dry, and brittle earth into moist, malleable, fragrant dirt; pulsating with insects and juicy vegetation of all kinds.

How The Land Of Fire And Ice Taught Me To Let Go

How The Land Of Fire And Ice Taught Me To Let Go

I recently traveled to Iceland, also known as "The Land of Fire and Ice." As the name implies, I was astounded to witness such radical contrasts living side by side.

In just a few days we were able to visit glaciers, thundering waterfalls, and raging rivers as well as still turquoise waters and vast black sand deserts. We hiked lush green mossy (seemingly solid) rolling mountains to where craters and fissures unexpectedly open up the earth. I will not forget the exploding geysers and simmering hot springs casting warm moisture over frostbitten grasslands.

The Secret to Beginning Again as We Prepare For Rebirth and Renewal

The Secret to Beginning Again as We Prepare For Rebirth and Renewal

As we enter this season of rebirth, we naturally grow more attentive to what we may want to cultivate and grow. With this in mind, I recently read The Top Five Regrets of the Dying, a collection of the most common regrets of the dying, written by a palliative nurse. It’s not surprising to see what made the list, as they are all things that touch each of our lives as we struggle to pay attention to and make time for things that we truly love.

An At Home Winter Solstice Retreat & Ritual

An At Home Winter Solstice Retreat & Ritual

On December 21, nature moves us through yet another one of her cycles! On this day, in the Northern Hemisphere, we will enter the darkest moment of the year. This day marks the Winter Solstice, the shortest day and longest night. In Latin, the meaning of Winter Solstice is ‘sun set still in winter.’ Historically, many cultures honor the solstice as a time to acknowledge the passage of life and death, death and rebirth; our greatest contraction and expansion.
