Learn to bring your students into a practice of restorative yoga that helps them release layers of tension and feel at ease in their bodies. Jillian Pransky offers clarity on how the gross anatomy, subtle energy body, emotional body, and mental body work together in restorative poses.

Through practice, hands-on practice-teaching, lecture, and discussion, this training covers

  • Restorative Yoga as a path of insight and spirituality

  • The science of the relaxation response theory

  • Anatomy of the psoas, nervous system, and the subtle body (koshas)

  • Neurological, physical, psychological, and energetic principles

  • How to make skillful propping decisions to support optimal energy flow

  • Adapting restorative asana for different environments and individual needs

  • Therapeutic applications of restorative poses for anxiety, stress, illness, and injury

  • Foundations for building and sequencing a restorative experience in private sessions or traditional yoga classes

  • An introduction to trauma-informed yoga with an emphasis on addressing ethnic and race-based trauma and stress (led virtually by special guest Gail Parker).

Note Tuition includes a manual. Please bring a camera to photograph poses and an eye pillow, if you have one. This program includes extended hours. A certificate will be provided at the end of the program
