Somatic Reset: 15-Minute Standing Stretch to Relieve Back Tension

The expanding energy of the summer is exciting and vibrant—personally, it’s my favorite season! However, with all the travels, gatherings, and activities we’ve been waiting for, it can be easy to forget that our nervous system needs some love.

If you’ve been seated for hours in a plane or a car, standing all night at a concert, or laying low during a heatwave, the body may also be craving a reset.

Here, I’ve clipped a 15-minute standing somatic practice to give our back a good stretch and tap into the vagus nerve.

This practice will relieve tension through breath-based movement and by gently clearing lymphatic stagnation—so we can flow with summer with more ease and fluidity.
