renewal can be a step away — a mindful downloadable walking meditation

Renewing can also be a step away...

Try this walking meditation to create space for calm, connection, and rejuvenation.

While a retreat is a profoundly incredible way to recalibrate and re-energize, we can enjoy a Walking Meditation as a 'mini-retreat' anytime. In fact, I start every day, in walking meditation along with my pup Sunday.

Walking Meditation is an easy, and accessible way to cultivate presence and a sense of connectedness.

It can promote a variety of health benefits, and is particularly valued for its ability to relax your body, refresh your mind, give you an emotional boost, and help you feel more in sync with nature’s cycles as well as take in the beauty of the season. Autumn is an incredible time to be outside and take in the scents around you.

In addition, it is also the perfect remedy for when sitting meditation feels too challenging, or when your nervous system feels too activated for stillness (which might be many of us right now). And, is shown to actually decrease stress and anxiety as well as an overall sense of peace and wellbeing.

There is really no right or wrong when it comes to walking meditation. And, you don’t have to walk so slow that people will wonder what you are doing. Just walk slowly enough that you can be fully present with your breath, your steps, and the nature around you.

When we slow down enough, any moment can be a potential to wake up, shift our perspective, and connect more.

Lastly, I love walking meditation because you can do it every day, any time! Try it the first time you leave your house—on your way to your car, the train, getting the mail or garbage, walking your dog, or even just up and down the steps of your house or building.

If you have time, include a practice of mindful walking 1-7 times a week. If you have five to 20 minutes, take time to walk in the park or parking lot of your office.

Want to try it? Download my 12-minute walking meditation and take it with you the next time you step outside.
